Brand new to the market, as of late September,
Freshtables Green Beans offer the benefit of fresh-steamed, green
beans, which cook evenly in only a few minutes in their own pouch.
You do not even have to punch holes in the bag before cooking
in the microwave, and the beans are coated in a rich, garlic
butter sauce. This is a gourmet product, suitable for guests.
Information about this product can be found at http://www.freshtables.com,
something I discovered after trying them.
Freshtables Green Beans in Garlic Butter
Sauce: Taste
I have often prepared freshly steamed green beans, but only after
pulling off the strings and cutting off the end pieces. Freshtables
has eliminated those steps. I cooked mine an extra two minutes
longer than recommended on the package and still had nice, crisp
beans coated in a rich garlic butter sauce. Many people could
get by with cooking them for only two minutes if you prefer crisper
beans. My husband raved about how wonderful they tasted and how
the sauce was special and unique. My teenage son ate his entire
portion as well, eagerly. Rarely do they both like the same foods
so I considered this a major triumph. I also loved them. and
the ease of preparation was a major plus, too. The sauce is not
runny but coats each individual bean and the vegetables look
and taste as close to fresh-picked as I can imagine any store
bought vegetable to be. We were all happily surprised by the
taste. By the way, the garlic taste is not overly strong so it
won't have people reaching for water glasses or breath mints.
Freshtables Green Beans : Quality
From start to finish, no complaints. The beans come in a very
attractive bag and we didn't even cook them the same day we
bought them, but a few days later. There seemed to be no loss
of quality or taste. One major feature that I absolutely liked
was that the bag does not need to have vent hole poked into
it. Preparation is as simple as sticking in the microwave and
cooking it . No mess, no fuss. Freshly steamed vegetables retain
nutrients and the tightly closed bag keeps vitamins with the
beans, not disappearing into steam.
Freshtables Green Beans: Price
It was on sale for $1.99 a bag.
Freshtables Green Beans: Serving Suggestions
I absolutely plan on making this a part of my Christmas and Thanksgiving
dinner menus. The sauce elevates what would be a plain side
dish to gourmet status and the freshness of the beans could
easily convince guests that you spent time preparing fresh
green beans from scratch. I might add a couple of thinly sliced
lemon wedges or shavings to complment the green of the vegetables
but there really isn't much need to add anything to these.
They are perfect just as they are. I served mine with Tuna
Casserole and the garlic sauce jazzed up a rather routine meal.
At Thanksgiving or Christmas, I would serve these with turkey
and dressing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, fresh rolls
and perhaps sprinkle some gently toasted and crushed hazelnuts
on top of the beans.
Freshtables Green Beans: Customer satisfaction
I was skeptical before buying these and absolutely crazy about
them afterwards. I couldn't be more satisfied. The product
lived up to the promises on the package to be steamed perfectly
in two minutes and to cook in the bag without any need to have
air holes poked in the bag. As a result, no sauce dripped out.
Freshtables Green Beans Sources I bought mine at a local Marsh
Grocery store. I could not find online sources, but I suggest
you look in the fresh vegetable section of your grocery store.
That is where they were located. |
